After some research I've found that peonies have some great back stories - according to the Greeks, the peony was named after Paeon, physician to the gods, who obtained the plant on Mount Olympus from the mother of Apollo - and according to the Chinese it is the "flower of riches and honour". and along with the blossom branch it is one of the longest-used flowers in ornamental culture. So gorgeous!

My peony necklace was one of my first designs ...

I've been struggling with the little earring buds. originally they were soldered to a wire and worn as a long post ...

but I've been messing around with them making them a little bit more dangly, so they do the shimmey-shimmey a little more ... thoughts?

In the meantime I have so many peony inspirations to share ... first we have
Paper Wren cards - she mixes vintage and modern so nicely, kind of perfect. and she's a new englander to boot!

as I was paging through her favorites I saw so many similar likes - from skirts to pillows to prints. Kind of fun when you find a kindred design spirit ... I love these lace inspired cards, like fancy sea creatures!

now on to something a little more sassy, these peony aprons by Jessie Steele:
Since I'm a horrible cook I can just see wearing this for a party where I serve store bought snacks on really cool china...
and I'll end this post with some peony dreaming ... hopefully a year from now I'll have a shiny airstream studio like this surrounded by huge blossoming flowers ....

that almost looks like my house in the reflection! maybe it's destiny!
